HOW TO HAVE REAL PURPOSE IN LIFE AND ATTAIN GOD REALIZATION by Raymond Ovietare

Beneath our daily mundane, ritualistic activities, there is a deep hunger in the soul of most part of humanity to understand their real purpose in life. You may have heard people think aloud or ask questions like, “Who am I? Why am I here? Where did I come from? What is life about”?
The purpose of this writing is to guide you towards understanding your purpose in life and attain God realization. A lot of people have this notion that we are the body and that our duty is to satisfy the whims and caprices of the body. Some put it this way, “today we live and tomorrow we die, let us enjoy our life”.
Too many people have this notion that everyone was created to live, eat reproduce, enjoy and die ; that is all there is to life. But this idea has not been able to fill the huge vacuum of emptiness many feel after they attain all their material desires.
There are basic steps that can help you relate effectively with life, and at the same time fulfill your basic soul inclinations. Roy Eugene Davis, founder and spiritual director of center for spiritual awareness, gives four steps that can help us achieve our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual goals. They are as follows:
1. Fulfill your duties and be happy
For you to fulfill your duties, you have to know what these duties are. Your ability to understanding your duties is directly proportional to the knowledge you have of your strengths, talent, abilities and even weaknesses.
Everyone has a unique role to play in this universe. Find out what best suits your temperament, talent and develop the appropriate skills that will help you be of greater service to humanity.
Fulfill your duties with a positive mental attitude and unconditional love. Cultivate spiritual virtues that will outlast whatever material gains you may receive in exchange for your service to humanity.
Saturate your work, lifestyle, relationship with regular and immense joy. Endeavour to be always supportive towards the positive evolution life in all sphere.
Let your intention be pure. Always remember what Paul said in the bible, “to him that is pure all things are pure”

2. Satisfy legitimate needs and desire
The path of spirituality is not the path of stupidity. Many truth seekers feel that if they are on the path of truth, they will not have problems; they see meditation or going to the church or temple as the cure-all medicine. Many ignorant worshippers have been fleeced of their money under the guise of false teaching about prosperity. Prosperity has been placed on the platform of sorcery and magic without the emphasising the role of hardwork, use of talent, skill development, persistence, creativity, innovation and service in wealth creation.
We need to take the necessary step to get employment or start our own business to earn a living for ourselves and families. It can be difficult or challenging to attend to spiritual matters while our minds are being bombarded from every direction by thoughts of rising and pressing bills, needs and responsibilities that are yet undone. When we are able to carry out certain legitimate activities that help provide for our housing, clothing, food; when we learn to cultivate emotionally balanced and supportive relationships, it is easy to banish anxiety from our thinking process and we can fully establish ourselves in self realization.
3. Cultivate a prosperity consciousness
It is our divine right to be comfortable because the holy spirit (whole spirit) who is the embodiment of all comfort, dwells within us. We are therefore meant to experience wholeness, completeness, perfection in all expressions of God’s good.
If we think in terms of prosperity at all times, we are seen as prosperity conscious. There is a law of life which states that, whatever we focus on, we attract into our life. We should always focus on the abundance of the universe.
If we realize that God is all and that God is infinite good then, we can boldly affirm and realize the infinite good which includes prosperity .
Learn to think, speak and see prosperity where ever you are. Associate with environment and people who are expressions of prosperity.
Do not criticize the symbol of prosperity in the lives of others because what you hate, you repel from your life. Celebrate the essence of prosperity through people and you too will experience and express prosperity.
4. Remain focused on the goal of God realization
The two greatest lies that has been told to mankind over the ages are that man is separate from God and that, there are two powers battling for supremacy over man. This is likened to the double-edged flaming sword that has kept humanity from having access to the tree of life.
We need to be reminded that, there is only one presence, power and life in the universe, God, the good, which is expressed as us. God is all there is. We live, move and have our being, in God. We are one with God. We should focus on this remembrance of our true nature –God realization. This is made possible through the guru-disciple relationship, prayer, contemplation, meditation, introspection, study, self discipline and right association. As we embark on activities geared towards fulfilling our material or physical needs, let us always remember to practice the presence of God. Let me assure you that if you desire God with all your heart, you will find him. Sai baba, an Indian guru counsels us to:” Start your day with Love. Live the day with love. Fill the day with live. This is the way to God”.
As you Carry out your daily activities, meet your basic needs, live prosperously in a world of infinite good and remain centered in God, you will be a focal point for the fullest expression of God’s will and good in the universe.
